The Host Program brings together newcomers to Canada and established community residents for friendship, sharing, and learning. Newcomers learn about living in Canada, practice speaking English, and make connections in their new community. Host volunteers act as guides to life in the community. In the process, they learn about other cultures and gain a better understanding of what immigrants contribute to Canada. The Host Program helps newcomers feel at home sooner, and it builds a welcoming community. The Host Program benefits everyone by helping Canadian society achieve its full potential. This Web site tells you about the Host Program and how to be part of it. It has resources for newcomers, Host volunteers, and Host Program staff.
